WHAT WE’LL DISCUSS:
One of the basic tenets of agility is the idea of the dedicated team, working collectively and collaboratively on clearly delineated problems, opportunities, value alignment, and execution.
Theoretically, this approach balances long-term strategic planning with focused efforts by the team within small timeboxes where they are largely protected from change. However, in the real world, many teams find themselves yanked from one thing to another on a regular basis, buffeted by sudden in-flight requests and weakly planned interventions by stakeholders, with little visibility into or control over the incoming pipeline. This is a recipe for poor quality, bad morale, and inelegant products. How can we address dynamic demand like this in a more structured and rational fashion without overwhelming the team?

One of LitheSpeed’s founders, Arlen Bankston, is an industry-leading agile and lean expert, author, speaker, management consultant, and trainer. With 15+ years in the industry, Arlen has led Agile and Lean deployment and managed process improvement projects at hundreds of clients in highly diverse industries, such as Marriott, Capital One, Neustar, CCP Games, T. Rowe Price, Freddie Mac, and the Armed Forces Benefits Association.
Bob Payne was an early adopter of Extreme Programming, Scrum and SAFe; he has worked exclusively as a Lean+Agile Transformation leader since 1999. Bob hosts the Agile Toolkit podcast and has produced over 170 episodes, recording various industry leaders and Agile practitioners. He founded the AgileDC conference, which is a “For-Benefit” event put on by volunteers from the Agile community. His consulting and training style is built on years of Lean+Agile experience, an MSEE in Computer Architectures for Artificial Intelligence, and having grown up working in his family’s restaurant, you can expect a blend of technical excellence and customer service.
