Event Details

Baltimore is known across the US for a few signature events like Artscape and Light City. This year, we’re ready to add Hack Baltimore to that list! Our city is home to a wide variety of hackathons every year, each designed to solve an individual and localized need. But what if we could collaborate to address greater, overarching needs?

What if we could bring together Baltimore’s extensive and talented community and harness our resources to hack the city’s biggest problems? Hack Baltimore will be a large-scale, city-wide event that taps into Charm City’s flourishing diversity and creativity to solve our toughest problems.

Who is Hack Baltimore?

HACK BALTIMORE is the first large-scale, city-wide innovation event that teams up technologist, civic leaders and city residents to design “sustainable” solutions for Baltimore’s biggest challenges.

We recognize America’s deepening inequality in Housing, Education, Public Safety, Workforce Development, Health & Wellness, and Transportation. HACK BALTIMORE suggests that, “the heroes we have been waiting for are right in our backyard.”

You don’t have to be a technologist to be a part of this broad civic tech movement, but if we are going to begin restoring faith in our institutions we need everyone to show up and support Baltimore with the tools that they already have.

Who does Hack Baltimore Need?

  • Are you a person with the ability to get things done?
  • Do you want to make Baltimore City better for everyone?
  • HACK BALTIMORE Needs You!

What are the Goals of HACK BALTIMORE?

  • Build sustainable civic-tech solutions for the pressing issues facing major urban cities like Baltimore.
  • Break down the silos by increasing the collaboration between innovators, community advocates, civic organizations & city government.
  • Elevate the positive stories being created by Baltimore’s civic tech community.
