Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO)
NextUp Solutions’ Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) course is a two-day, interactive learning experience that focuses on the role of the Product Owner.
What You’ll Learn
This course starts with an overview of the Agile and Scrum frameworks. From there, the curriculum includes:
- What a Product Owner does
- What to look for in a Product Owner
- Vision, mission and charter
- Product roadmaps and story maps
- Project scope via product backlog
- User stories and Agile specifications
- Prioritization techniques
- Product backlog grooming and splitting user stories
- Estimation and forecasting
- Release planning
- Tracking progress
Certification
Upon completion of the course, students will be credentialed as Certified Scrum Product Owners.
Additionally, this course allows students to claim 14 Project Management Institute (PMI)® Professional Development Units (PDUs)* as well as 16 Scrum Alliance Scrum Education Units (SEUs).

The class is great for current Scrum Product Owners, business analysts, ScrumMasters, testers, or anyone involved with creating requirements, gathering needs, and managing products.
Note: The CSPO course assumes that attendees already have a basic understanding of Scrum via our Agile and Scrum in a Day course, Certified ScrumMaster course, or equivalent Scrum experience.

Location
This is a live online (virtual) class. After registering, students will receive the Zoom weblink to join the training. We recommend that students download the Zoom web-based application prior to joining class.
About Your Trainer
Dr. Patrick McConnell is the Vice President of Agile Services at NextUp Solutions and a Certified Scrum Trainer (CST) specializing in Agile transformation in the public sector and scaling agile frameworks. A criminologist by training, Patrick transitioned from developing geospatial applications in Agile teams to coaching and training Agile methods and frameworks. He has served as an Agile coach and trainer for over 50 U.S. Government organizations, as well as the states of Alabama, Maryland, and New York.
Cancellation Policy
Students submitting cancellation requests 10 business days or more prior to the start of the course are entitled to a full refund. Students submitting cancellation requests less than 10 business days prior to the start of the course will be offered a credit toward a future NextUp Solutions course of equivalent value, or a refund less a processing fee of $100. Should the organizer cancel the course for any reason, each registered student will be issued a full refund.
