Congratulations! You are the new Agile Coach for a delivery team, “showing up” for your first day of work. How do you engage the product team? Are they your client, a partner, a stakeholder, a nuisance, or something else entirely?
Truth be told, product managers, owners, and teams set the foundation for a lot of delivery team practices. If product strategy and requirements are well scoped and maintained, then tactical delivery starts strong. The reverse is also true.
In this session, we define essential product practices for a strong strategy, explore how those practices transition to tactical success, and practice influencing product teams. You will leave ready to engage product partners and coach them to success.
Robert Brodell loves the breakdown of strategic and tactical work native to project, program, and product management. He has ten years of experience establishing and scaling Agile and product practices across organizations, including the federal government and Capital One. Rob has occupied unique positions directly managing products while simultaneously leading the establishment and maturation of project and program practices.
Today, Rob helps product teams, Agile teams, and individual practitioners establish and build their own practices as a consultant, coach, and advisor. He is currently coaching and consulting individuals and teams across start-ups, small- and medium-sized businesses, and large enterprise organizations. His focus is on developing and implementing a strategy to evolve and navigate the impacts of COVID-19. In this capacity, Rob regularly helps Agilists and product practitioners figure out how to build a cohesive, programmatic approach to manage the gap between strategy and tactics.
